A writing challenge I may never finish.
I'm not quite sure how well I'll do with this, but I've decided to challenge myself to completing a 100 prompts challenge, this time for writing. I've attempted a couple of art ones before (ex. a 100 themes) and never completed them, but I am hoping that I will be able to complete the list this time.
From the last few experiences I've had with these sorts of challenges, I know for a fact that doing one per day for 100 days will not work for me. Not in the slightest. Too many things come up; time doesn't get set aside for the prompts, school gets top priority, and I can be rather forgetful.
In an attempt to not leave another thing incomplete or left hanging indefinitely, I'll be aiming to do all 100 prompts by the end of the year. (I guess this is my New Year's resolution, then?) If I get them all finished much sooner, then good on me! If not, then I'll continue the challenge into next year until I finish every prompt.
I've decided to do this prompt list:
100 Writing Prompts Challenge by Sunshockk
(I realize my journal skin isn't going to be kind to the transparency of the submission, so I'll type it out below the journal.)
I'll do my best to do them all in order, but I'm going to make no promises. One thing that I'm unsure of is if I will do each one independently, or if I will end up doing them as a continuous piece. That will be discovered as I write.
There are a few reasons why the idea of taking upon one of these challenges crossed my mind. One of which is that I don't post much that isn't related to a role play group, so I thought I needed to spice up my gallery with some more original content. Probably the second reason is my professor for both American Lit and Journalism. He's gone on about how he sat down and wrote for two or three hours a day for the entire break between semesters and wrote a book (well, he's written quite a few books this way), and I figured this would be a great way to get me in the rhythm of sitting down and begin writing on a semi-regular basis.
I hope to be able to cross one off the list - maybe two - this weekend. However, I do have some coursework to complete for my classes, so I won't be making any promises. I encourage anyone else who would like to do a 100 themes/prompts challenge to do one. There are quite a few out there with interesting lists of themes for both drawing and writing!
Here is the list that I will be updating with my progress for my goal:
